#Blackout Join [AFO]
Published in Call of Duty News by AtariBuda | Comment (5)As Captain of AFO i would like to extend a warm welcome to Team #Blackout, who will be representing AFO in the Call Of Duty franchise.
Blackout join us with a short, but very distinguished history. Already at the top to the CyberGamer CGO ladder, we will no doubt continue to see great things from this team that has accomplished so much in a small period of time.
Please join me in welcoming the following players to AFO.
Ant, Rogue, Andy, Cryptik, Malarkey and Showtime
The end of the season
Published in Counter Strike Source News by Beta_zErO | Comment (0)The season has been a long one, containing ups and downs throughout the 12-13 weeks of the season itself, the guys have been praccing through the hardship of their hsc trials.
The season has not been an upset, this was the first Cevo-Intermedate the team has ever gone through, and it was not a failure.
After the teams loss tonight against the established old team 403, due to unforseen internet issues and bad scheduling, AFO finished the season up in 3rd place, and taking home the prize of a server.
AFO looking to be attending nationals if it is set up this year in melbourne (if it is on), and many other lans around sydney. With the next Intermediate season starting next year, there is a chance we could move up to proffesionally but very unlikely.
Well done and good luck to AFO in the next season of cevo-Intermediate / Professional next year!
Pinnacle merge name with AFO
Published in Counter Strike Source News by Beta_zErO | Comment (0)The tag we currently help was "pcL shaunske AFO" But the representation of AFO here was often treaded upon, and was never taken seriously by the community.
We feel that changing our name would better represent ourselves amonst AFO and AFO as a community gaming team amongst the css communities.
Congratulations to Pinnacle [AFO] :D

VWar Bridged!
Published in AFO News by DAN13L | Comment (0)I need you ALL to update your passwords. There is NO NEED to manually create a vWar account!
This can be changed to your same password, however to create your logins for vwar, a password change is required.
1) Login
2) Click My Profile on the LHS
3) Hover over "Edit" > Click "Update Your Profile" > Click "Contact Info"
4) Enter in your new or existing password in the relevant fields and click "Update"
5) Log off, and log back in.
6) When clicking on "VWar", this should now automatically log you into VWar.
Captains, I will be fixing your profiles up to add members to the relevant teams. This means that we are the first Joomla 1.5 web site to have vwar intergrated and bridged.
A BIG thanks goes out to Wilco Jansen for making this possible!
Thanks,
Daniel
AFO proceed to Grand Final in nGR $8000 BF2 Masters Grand Final
Published in Battlefield 2 News by AtariBuda | Comment (1)AFO's Battlefield2 team has been playing in the $8000 netGameRadio BF2 Masters 16v16 Tournament. The decision to enter a team was made 2 days before team resgistrations closed, we had noticed that some of the teams that were going to enter initially had not registered by then, and we thought we could easliy get into p4,5,6 and take home some money to pay for servers and the like.
This was short lived as a few hours later we saw the likes of AvA, *AUS* and =NSOF= enter a team. The scramble to find 24 active players began, and we had asked every member within AFO of their availability and commitment for the tournament, the ones which could not dedicate themselves were left out and the people that could were put in the team.
Our total active numbers at that stage was ~17 which was not enough, we needed to fill the 24 man roster to fill the team and allow us to have reserves, the call went out to a few people we knew and respected that were keen to play and had no team to play in, subsequently the final spots were taken by these active players and the team was formed. This had bolstered our team and had provided us with a fairly wide skill set. , we had:
* Invader from A$$,
* Bourne, Shaunicles and Chook from (db]]
* SteveIrwinCrocHunter from |NmE|
* Demonee from =RAAF=
* Althalus, Arthur Dent, mick, sammy and Sevearass from =DcS=.
* SJSKitz from bJ
* Bingaz from uN*
After a grueling 9 rounds, we had made it into the finals finishing up Position 5 at the end of the rounds. In the Semi Final we came up against *AUS* an original and seasoned 16v16 team with their origins dating back to BF1942. The map was dragon valley and we were in with a chance, there's been a lot of rivalry with this clan and I can only say it has added some spice to the matches, we had won the first round by 27 and the second by 77 taking the total to 104-0 to AFO.
We had then proceeded onto the preliminary final where doom was certain, we were going up against the favorites to win the competition and a team managed by one of the most hardest working and dedicated captains in the community. We were playing against ak^, the team that has won pretty much every money competition for BF2, and has been at the forefront of Australian competitive BF2. The talented Australian Battlefield 2 team, known as ‘Team awaken^,’ has succeeded in accomplishing the following:
* 1st in the GameArena 10 v 10 $40,000 Battlefield 2 Competition
* 1st in the Cyberslam 10 v 10 $40,000 Battlefield 2 Competition
* 1st in the OGN Infantry 10 v 10 $800 Battlefield 2 Competition
* 1st in the GameArena 8 v 8 $46,000 Battlefield 2142 Competition
* 2nd in the Taipei APAC 8 v 8 $30,000 Battlefield 2142 Competition
AFO beat aK in the semi final at nGR
Published in Battlefield 2 News by Riddick | Comment (0)I am so proud to be apart of such a fantastic team and the effort that has been put in to at least show up when needed. We have always put our lives before gaming and yet we still get a thrill from competing and are very content to be where we are at today.
We most certainly have a big match ahead of us, against x5. It will be a tough one indeed and we hope to be able to get some prac in, in time for the match on Sunday.
Either way congrats on the win fellas, truly is a historical moment and a treasured win indeed.
Game face guys, and lets get g'ed up and ready to pull out all stops to give x5 a good run for there money.
AFO FUCK YEAH!!!!
